CCTV & on-court video
We use CCTV for safety and security throughout the facility.
In addition, each court has cameras for recording play and enabling instant replay. These recordings may capture you, your image, your actions on court, and in some cases other identifying features. We may use these recordings for:

Signage will be displayed to inform you that CCTV and on-court recording are in use. By entering the facility and using the courts, you acknowledge these systems operate as described in this policy.

Consent approach
Where it is reasonable and practicable, we will skeen consent for close-up, individual, and clearly identifiable images/video used for promotional purposes. For general crowd, ambient, or event-coverage imagery where people are not the main subject, we may rely on appropriate notice and the context of an event within our facility.
Children and young people
For participants under 16, we will seek consent from a parent or legal guardian before using close-up or clearly identifiable images/video for promotional purposes.
Opt-out and withdrawal
If you do not want to be photographed or filmed for promotional use, you can notify our staff or contact us at contact@pickleballpark.co.nz. We will take reasonable steps to avoid capturing you in close-up promotional content and will honour opt-out requests where practicable.
If you previously consented and later withdraw consent, we will stop using newly created content featuring you and take reasonable steps to remove or de-identify existing content where practicable and within our control. This may not always be possible for content already distributed or shared by third parties.
Relationship to CCTV and on-court replay
This section relates to promotional and event content. Our use of CCTV and on-court recording/instant replay is designed separately and may operate regardless of promotional media preferences for safety, security, incident management, operational improvement, and customer experience.
6. Who we share your information with
We may share your personal information with:

Access to CCTV and on-court recordings is restricted to authorised staff and trusted service providers where necessary.

CCTV and on-court video retention:

General CCTV footage: typically, 21-30 days unless required for an investigation or legal process.

On-court replay footage: typically, 4-7 days unless flagged for a safety incident complaint, operational review, or a coaching/performance purpose where offered.
12. Your rights: access and correction
You have the right to request access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you.
CCTV and on-court video access:
If you request access to footage that includes other people, me may need to limit, redact, or refuse parts of the footage where required to protect others' privacy.

If a privacy breach occurs that has caused or is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the appropriate authorities as required.
